I am an artist/interior designer with 25 years experience.  I have enjoyed the process of creating art either in a home environment or making a beautiful functional or sculptural piece of pottery. In elementary school I showed a strong desire and a passion for all forms of art. Today I love painting, quilting, basket weaving, knitting, crocheting and I especially love playing in the clay. Therefore, once you understand all the steps in pottery you can produce almost anything.

I have been in the clay studios and classrooms for over 20 years. I never tired of the process of pottery.  I produce and sell only those pieces that I love.  Looking back on my years in clay it has been a whole lot like the game of golf.  You get much better at your swing and your handicap improves as time goes by.  If there is anything that I have been passionate about it is CLAY.  One of my first teachers told me “put your hands in the clay and move the brain out of the way and you will be amazed at what you create!” The pieces of art that I have created in this manner are emotionally inspired works that demonstrate talent that comes only from the depths of one's soul.

I have studied with many potters of the Carolina Clay Guild.  I do one or two shows a year. I sell my pottery at the Sleepy Poet and I gift away many pieces.  Pottery is and has been an ever educational process that has and will sustain me for the rest of my life.  I have enjoyed this adventure into the World of Clay.
