Ana Amaral

I was born in Lisbon, Portugal and raised from just a few months of age on Long Island just outside New York City. As a kid I was happiest when doodling and painting colorful characters while listening to music and watching old movies from the golden age of Hollywood. I was lucky in the sense that people in my life believed in my talent. In my Senior year of High School I was awarded Outstanding Artist of the Year by my Art Teacher whom I deeply admired. A self-taught Artist I finally began painting full-time in 2001 when the tragic events of September 11th made me realize the true significance of living the life we are meant to live, living each day to its fullest. Today my paintings reside in private collections around the globe, and I‘ve been published in ‘Creative Minds’ Art Book. I’m known for my glittering Glamour and Pin-Up Art, and series of Mermaids.

My art can be viewed and purchased via my website: www.Epiphaniart.com. These days I reside in North Carolina and teach Art at the Community Arts Project a wonderfully creative place which has allowed me to teach my craft and motivate children and teens to find inspiration in the things they love, to explore all mediums, utilize recycled objects to build their visions, and to feel joy and pride in the process of creating art that is purely their own. I am most certainly doing what I love!
